Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Fluxscale Limited (“we”, “us”) covering the ubu macOS menubar app and this website. By getting or using ubu you accept them, so please read them.

Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. What you are getting

ubu is a menubar application for macOS 13 Ventura and later that keeps your Dock on the display you choose. It is distributed through the Mac App Store, where the listing shows the current price and any subscription or trial terms. Your purchase gives you the app, updates, and support.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable right to install and use ubu on Macs you own or control, for your own personal and internal business use. Your purchase of ubu through the App Store is also governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement.

3. Payments and your Apple ID

Purchases, payments, billing and tax for ubu are handled by Apple through the Mac App Store. You can manage or cancel any subscription from your Apple ID subscription settings, and renewals follow the terms shown on the App Store listing.

You confirm that you are old enough to agree to these terms (or can bind the organisation you buy for).

4. Who sells to you

ubu is offered by Fluxscale Limited. Your App Store transaction is processed by Apple as merchant of record for the purchase.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use ubu or this website unlawfully, or to commit fraud, spam or phishing;
  • infringe anyone’s intellectual property or other rights;
  • interfere with, probe or weaken the security of this website — including scraping the site;
  • resell, redistribute or republish ubu builds as your own product;
  • send malware, or use the site to distribute it.

6. Availability and no warranty

We work to keep ubu and this website running well, but we do not promise they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that ubu will work with every display, dock or macOS setup. To the fullest extent the law allows, ubu is provided “as is”, without warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not responsible for lost work, lost data or lost time.

7. Suspension and ending access

We may end your licence if you materially breach these terms, if we reasonably believe there is a security or fraud risk, or if you repeatedly or seriously violate these terms. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right. Apple’s App Store terms also apply to your purchase; refunds follow our Refund Policy and Apple’s terms.

8. Our ownership

ubu, its name, beagle branding, documentation and website content belong to Fluxscale Limited. We grant only the rights in clause 2; everything else stays with us.

9. Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim connected to your purchase is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will post the new terms here with a new “last updated” date and, where we can reach you, tell you before they apply. Using ubu after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, without affecting mandatory consumer rights where you live.
