Privacy Notice

This notice explains what Fluxscale Limited (“we”, “us”) collects when you get or use ubu, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.

Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. Who is responsible

Fluxscale Limited is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at support@fluxscale.com about anything in this notice, including a request to delete your data.

2. What we collect

  • App Store purchase records: your payment, tax and invoice details are handled by Apple. We may receive sales reporting from Apple that does not identify you.
  • Support messages you send us, and our replies.
  • Site usage: which pages were viewed, which site referred you, approximate region, and browser or device type, in aggregate form.

ubu itself runs locally on your Mac. We do not collect your files, your screen contents, your browsing, or your keystrokes through the app.

3. Why we collect it, and the legal basis

  • to support the product you bought and answer your messages — performance of our contract with you;
  • to keep the site secure, detect abuse and fraud, and diagnose breakages — our legitimate interests;
  • to understand roughly how many people visit and where they come from, so we can improve the site — our legitimate interests;
  • to keep accounting records where the law requires it — legal obligation;
  • to send product news or offers, if you ever ask for them — your consent, withdrawable at any time.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

4. Who we share it with

  • Apple — as merchant of record for App Store purchases, Apple handles checkout, payment, tax, invoicing and refunds under its own privacy policy;
  • our hosting and email-delivery providers, who process data only to run this website for us;
  • our accountants and legal advisers, where they need to see records;
  • tax authorities, courts or regulators where we are legally required to disclose.

5. Where your data is processed

Some of our providers process data outside the UK and European Economic Area. Where they do, we rely on adequacy regulations or standard contractual terms (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement) so the same protections travel with it.

6. How long we keep it

  • accounting records: 6 years, the period UK tax law expects us to keep;
  • support messages: 2 years from the last reply;
  • aggregate visit statistics: kept in a form that no longer identifies you.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal data, and you can ask for a copy of it in a portable format. If we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it. Email support@fluxscale.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK, or to your local data protection authority.

8. How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS, access to systems is limited to people who need it, credentials are not shared, and payment details are handled by Apple rather than stored by us. No method of storage is perfectly safe, so we keep only what we need and for no longer than we need it.

9. Children

This website is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly take their data.

10. Changes to this notice

If we change this notice we will update the “last updated” date above, and tell you directly if a change matters to you. Fluxscale Limited, updated 19 October 2026.
